The Possibilities of Gamification in the Process of Political Socialization of High School Students

The work explores the concepts of “political socialization” and conceptualizes the concept of “political socialization of high school students”; identifies the features of the process and pedagogical conditions that contribute to the political socialization of high school students; analyzes rules and regulations for studying social studies in high school; explores the potential of “Social Studies” school course for the political socialization of school students; identifies deficiencies and problems of political socialization of high school students; presents results of a survey examining the political socialization of high school students; introduces a brief history of gamification and prospects for its development; defines the concepts of “gamification” and “game technologies”; identifies their similarities and differences, their role in teaching high school students; presents results of a survey exploring gamification in social studies classes; gives methodological recommendations for the introduction of gamification elements into the “Political Sphere” lessons` section of social studies, basic level, grade 11; presents a technological lesson map with gamification elements that influence the political socialization of high school students.
