The Image of the Choir in the Poetry of A.A. Akhmatova

Student: Kochetkova Ekaterina

Supervisor: Evgenya Abelyuk

Faculty: Faculty of Humanities

Educational Programme: Contemporary Philology in Literature Instruction at Secondary Schools (Master)

Year of Graduation: 2024

The thesis is devoted to the analysis of the connections between the evolution of the lyrical heroine Akhmatova and the development of the image of the “choir” in the cycles of poems “Evening”, “Rosary”, “White Flock”, “Anno Domini MCMXXI”, the poem “Requiem” and “Poem without a Hero”. Akhmatova’s image of the choir may refer to an ancient choir or be a church choir. The image constantly develops in Akhmatova’s work, becomes dynamic, and carries within itself the reincarnation of the lyrical heroine.
