Screenwriting for the Videogame FAIRYPUNK

This research explores the mechanisms underlying the formation of sympathy towards negative main characters in video games. Through an analysis of popular video games released between 2002 and 2022, the study identifies five key factors that contribute to the player's affinity for negative protagonists. These factors include the character's charisma, altruistic goals, positive outcomes for their actions, adherence to a personal moral code, and an impact of the world on the character.
