This thesis assesses the socio-economic consequences of World Bank programmes in Argentina and Brazil between 2013 and 2023. The essay examines the World Bank's dual function of advancing both economic stability and social development in these nations, taking into account the larger framework of Latin America. By conducting a thorough analysis of literature and World Bank records, together with the use of case studies, this research evaluates the efficacy of various programmes in promoting socio-economic advancement. The research demonstrates a combination of positive and negative results: some efforts had a substantial impact on infrastructure development and poverty reduction, while others were less successful due to limitations imposed by local political and economic factors. The results emphasise the need of matching foreign assistance with the particular developmental requirements and circumstances of the nations receiving it. This study enhances our comprehension of the complex relationship between foreign financial aid and regional progress, offering valuable insights for policymakers to maximise the effectiveness of future interventions.
