In almost every architectural composition, as a rule, the dominant is the vertical, prevails over other elements. In history, it was towers (in an ensemble and freestanding) along with obelisks that formed the dominant patterns of architectural, urban and landscape views. With the advent of industrialization, the landscape and familiar cityscape have changed greatly. Along with churches and bell towers, new vertical structures appeared in our cities - chimneys and cooling towers, and in villages - water and silo towers. The research looks at industrial verticals, some of which are not classified as “towers”, but are vivid verticals. Thus, the industrial revolution introduced into architecture not only new materials, forms and technologies, but also a new prevails of dominants - “new towers”.
