This visual study was carried out on the theme "Patterns and motifs in traditional Kyrgyz embroidery" and is the research stage of the final qualification work — "Exhibition project on the theme of the tourist identity of Bishkek city". The choice of the visual research topic is due to the need to analyze the context in which the project falls within the framework of the thesis. The purpose of this work is to study the history of the development of traditional Kyrgyz embroidery and observe the process of formation of the Kyrgyz ornament system. Embroidery is deeply rooted in the history of the Kyrgyz people and is an important part of their national identity. The ornaments used in embroidery have a symbolic meaning reflecting the faith, traditions and way of life of the Kyrgyz people. During the study, the main motifs and signs used in Kyrgyz embroidery were studied and their role in transmitting cultural heritage and maintaining the traditions of this people was determined. A deep meaning is hidden in the Kyrgyz patterns. Despite the fact that many interpretations of the patterns are based on the associative perception of the craftsmen and are mostly subjective, they are still based on the worldview of the Kyrgyz people.
