Student: Alisaanastasiya Avilova

Supervisor:

Faculty: Faculty of Creative Industries

Educational Programme: Design (Bachelor)

Final Grade: 8

Year of Graduation: 2024

In today's digital age, social media boasts endless streams of content, and cloud storage and flash drives are filled with gigabytes of photos and videos. However, the lack of a fast and intuitive file navigation and search system turns the once enjoyable process of saving memorable digital artifacts into an addictive habit of hoarding and mindlessly scrolling through vast amounts of content. To gain insight into the inclinations, mindsets and motivations of the target audience, there was conducted a study of the mechanics and methods of storing memorable artifacts, as well as the transformation of these mechanics from ancient times to the present. The primary goal is to gain historically informed understanding of how the process of preserving, organizing, and retrieving stored memories can be optimized in digital format so that users can revisit valuable files. The main goal of this research is to create a minimum viable product and develop ready-made prototypes and a digital product design system called “REM” - a mobile application for storing digital embodiments of memories.
