The Impact of Economic Sanctions on the Right to Development in Lebanon

Several countries are under economic sanctions nowadays, and one of them is Lebanon. Some may think that there is no correlation between the imposed sanctions on Lebanon and human rights in the country in general and the right to development particularly. Based on the current situation of the right to development in Lebanon. This research points out based on the current sanctioning policies adopted by the US and the EU, especially towards Lebanon. It discusses several issues, mainly how international economic sanctions on Lebanon influence the right to development, what mechanisms can be identified to mitigate the negative consequences and promote sustainable development in the face of such sanctions, and to what extent Lebanon can follow the Russian and Iranian experiences with dealing and adapting with economic sanctions.
