American presidential elections, which will currently be held in November 2024, usually catch global attention, particularly through the lens of the US media. Despite the widespread use of new media, television remains an important source of information, including for Americans. However, recently, there have been allegations of bias and inequity in media coverage. Therefore, this project’s result is an expository documentary film exploring the work of American news channels during the pre-election periods of 2020 and 2024. Competitive analysis has revealed there are no similar projects available on the Russian market, suggesting both theoretical and industrial significance. «Behind the Scenes: American TV Networks + Presidential Elections» is an explanatory documentary that features research into the broadcasts of TV networks during pre-election periods, expert interviews with American specialists, and public opinion polling. The final media product goal is to increase the viewers’ media literacy through the analysis of real examples.
