This project proposal examines the creation and development of the second season of sary qyzdar podcast, a thematic audio series exploring multiculturalism in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The aim is to present a nuanced discussion on ethnic and cultural diversity, historical contexts, and sense of community through six episodes released biweekly. The creation involves a three-stage model including pre-production, production, and post-production phases. This covers audience survey, competitive analysis, script development, recording and distributing. The podcast is created by co-hosts, Afina Gasanova and Milana Baisultanova, who also work as producer and scriptwriter respectively. The themes of the season’s episodes are chosen based on the results of the survey and include issues such as decoloniality, Central Asian gender studies and cultural studies. Key features include a unique concept, amiable tone of voice, and research-based approach. Overall, this project contributes to a deeper understanding of multiculturalism in the region while exploring the potential of podcasts as a medium for cultural discourse.
