Plastic surgery has become an integral part of the modern public sphere and has a significant impact on visual culture. Research objectives: to consider cases of using the image of a deformed body in visual culture, to study the features of the representation of plastic surgery in the media, to describe the reasons why there is a desire to change facial/body features. Research problem: the attitude towards plastic surgery is contradictory: some artists express themselves through body deformation, while others broadcast the negative side of the phenomenon. The research hypothesis was confirmed: plastic surgery is a significant and important field in modern visual culture, helping to express themselves and increase self-esteem.
