Animated Series in the Infotainment Style About the History of Humor

Student: Kolosova Anastasiya

Supervisor: Artur S. Tarasenko

Faculty: Faculty of Creative Industries

Educational Programme: Journalism (Bachelor)

Final Grade: 9

Year of Graduation: 2024

This creative project is dedicated to creating an animated series in the style of an infotainment about the history of humor. As a rule, when studying the past, teachers focus on large-scale, serious and more often tragic events. Because of this, to students, the people of the past seem distant, gloomy and have little in common with modern society. The idea of this project is to show historical epochs and personalities from an unusual angle — through the history of humor. Humor is often a way in society to relax, defuse the situation and get closer to other people. Humor can have the same effect in the context of studying history: it allows to feel empathy for people of the past and see in them, first of all, not abstract great personalities, but ordinary people. This format of educational and entertainment content will help to keep the modern viewer with “clip thinking” on the screens, as well as simplify the process of studying history.
