The theoretical part is devoted to studying the development of portrait genre in fine arts and the formation of portrait interview genre in journalism, as well as to the author's understanding of the synthetic genre of video portrait used in the project. The practical part describes the creation of an audiovisual product in the genre of video portrait from director’s, cinematographer’s and producer’s the point of view. The final product is a cycle of 5 episodes with artists working in the fields of figurative painting, abstractionism, olfactory art, glassblowing and others. The peculiarity of the project lies in the experimental nature of presenting the information: the project combines elements of journalism and art; and each episode is not only a report from the artist's studio but also a broadcast of the author's view on life and work done with the help of original directorial decisions.
