The thesis is dedicated to analyzing the socio-economic determinants of meat consumption in Russia and comparing it with other countries. The study uses data on meat consumption, population income levels, food prices, and overall economic conditions in various countries. Particular attention is paid to the influence of cultural and religious factors on consumer preferences in different regions. The first part of the work presents a literature review on the topic, analyzing the main theoretical approaches to studying meat consumption. The second part conducts an empirical analysis of data collected from various sources, including statistical data from government organizations and international institutions. The findings indicate that economic well-being is a key factor determining the level of meat consumption, however, cultural and religious characteristics significantly influence consumption specifics in different countries. It was also found that globalization and changes in global food trends contribute to the unification of eating habits. The thesis contributes to understanding the mechanisms that shape consumer preferences in the meat products sector and can serve as a basis for developing policies aimed at regulating the food industry in the interests of sustainable development.
