The research is aimed at identifying and studying strategies for expressing grief in the Russian online space after mass school shootings. In the theoretical part, the concepts of grief and mourning are analyzed, with an emphasis on their differences and roles in the grieving process. The study also examines traditional practices of remembrance and spontaneous memorialization. A lot of attention is paid to the process of mobilizing grief and the phenomenon of "hyper-mourning". To identify grieving strategies and study their features, an array of 300 mournful publications is analyzed using a qualitative methodology. The results obtained allow us to understand the features of the expression of grief in the Russian online space and answer a research question related to the choice and use of such strategies.
