Educational Programme: Journalism (Bachelor)

Final Grade: 9

Year of Graduation: 2024

The project explores the history of loneliness, changes in worldview over millennia, and the evolution of practices associated with solitude. Employing an interdisciplinary approach that encompasses history, sociology, and psychology, it aims to deepen our understanding of human emotions and social dynamics. Creating a pilot episode of a series using 3D animation is geared towards the educational and entertainment markets, as well as filling gaps in YouTube content regarding the history of loneliness. Methodologically, the project combines qualitative and quantitative analysis based on various historical records, surveys, and medical data. Expected outcomes include an understanding of the historical patterns of voluntary solitude and forced social isolation: from deadly exile from communities in antiquity and condemnation of solitary life in antiquity to solitary circumnavigations and the modern so-called «epidemic of loneliness».
