This project describes the process of creating the podcast «Plastilinovye Mysli» — a thematic audio show dedicated to Soviet and Russian animation, in which we examine popular and little-known cartoons from the perspective of key cultural, social and historical events and phenomena. The aim of the project is to develop the audience's understanding of Soviet and Russian animation as a serious developing art form by analysing the depiction of key themes in well-known and little-known Soviet and Russian animation projects. This was done through detailed analyses of literature and visual works, interviews with experts, script writing, production, sound editing and a marketing plan. The podcast was created by co-hosts Elena Bukanovich and Maria Popova, scriptwriter and producer respectively. This podcast is based on a combination of theoretical concepts, practical advice, expert opinion and personal experience of the authors to create unique audio content that includes both educational and entertaining content. Topics for episodes are chosen with an informational agenda and based on survey results, including coverage of remake phenomena, cosmism, and gender studies. Podcast «Plastilinovye Mysli» intends to be a platform to discuss current issues and socio-cultural topics in the industry, as well as an exchange of ideas between animation enthusiasts and professionals. Keywords: animation, podcast, representation, film analysis, Russian animation, Soviet animation.
