Student: Kravchuk Tatiana

Supervisor: Alexandra Latysheva

Faculty: Faculty of Creative Industries

Educational Programme: Media Communications (Bachelor)

Final Grade: 10

Year of Graduation: 2024

The primary goal of the graduation thesis is to create a webtoon that explores complex aspects of interpersonal relationships and maturation, family difficulties, and personal development through the perspective of a young woman. The project correlates with the author's life experience, thereby providing an authentic reflection of real events that took place. By May 10, 2024, the first part of the webtoon was released online. "Synonym of Love" is a webtoon that presents a narrative about relationships, self-discovery, and the exploration of human emotions. This work conveys the following statement: the greatest value in life is created when a person steps towards others people. Moreover, since a teenager is dependent on her parents in many aspects (psychological, material ones), their negative attitude towards their child's interaction with the opposite sex plays a significant role, which is also a key theme of the work. The plot of the first part revolves around the main heroine, a student who is on a beach vacation with her family, where she meets a local young man. This meeting causes the girl to have a lot of inner thoughts and considerations. Upon returning home, she realizes that those few days on the coast have left a deep mark in her heart, and she tries to figure out who this new acquaintance has become for her.
