Creating a Mini-film Based on Literature

The diploma project was completed in the format of a creative project, the aim of which was to adapt the literary source for a cinematographic work and to shoot a short film "Her Petushki." The literary source for creating an original screenplay and subsequent director's reworking was the poem "Moscow-Petushki" by V. V. Erofeev. The methods used in the project include analysis of literature related to current trends and the modern mission of adaptations, analysis of studies on the representation of the past on screen, analysis of works dedicated to the specificity of the original poem, and analysis of research papers on writing screenplay models of film adaptions and directing them. This approach ensures a comprehensive study of the phenomenon of adaptation and allows for the creation of a short film that simultaneously preserves the aesthetics of the original work and represents its unique interpretation. The film exhibits a high degree of intertextuality, which is achieved through mise-en-scène, acting, and 3D graphics. A significant part of the work is devoted to analyzing the film "Her Petushki" from the perspective of a media product. Authors conducted research on the competitive environment of short films and presented potential distribution platforms, target audience, and production process of the product.
