Year of Graduation: 2024

Our project is a music video for the Russian indie singer Skipper for the song «Through the Cities». The clip tells the story of four friends who studied together at university and spent a lot of time together, but after graduation they had to break up. The main character, He remains in Moscow. Her young man, whom they met at university, is going to study and live abroad. A friend of the heroes from a small town returns back to his hometown after graduating from university, and a friend of the heroes leaves for another large Russian city in order to continue his studies there. We show the story of their separation non-linearly: initially we declare the main character, who is going to call her friends on a video call. She gets ready: she takes out photos with friends to review them together.  Next, we announce the rest of the characters, who are also going to call while in different places. Then we show the characters together during the period when they were still in Moscow — their happy memories. After showing the first part of the memories, we again show the past, but recent, where the characters leave each other: a girlfriend on a train, a friend in a car, a young man on a plane.  The main character remains alone in Moscow, walks through the places where she once was with friends. At the end, we again show the heroine on a video call, who closes her laptop and goes to the window. The last scene of the clip is their one common memory—a fantasy where all the characters are together on the roof. The frames alternate with projections of these memories on the wall.  By showing the story of the separation of friends, we raise the topic of long-distance relationships during changes, which is relevant in the framework of modern Russian realities.
