Student: Makarova Anastasiia

Supervisor: Artur S. Tarasenko

Faculty: Faculty of Creative Industries

Educational Programme: Journalism (Bachelor)

Final Grade: 8

Year of Graduation: 2024

The concept of the project is a journey through different historical periods and an analysis of traditional music festivals that took place at certain points in history. The video will cover eight eras: Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome, the Middle Ages, the Age of Enlightenment and the era of the Industrial Revolution, the time before and after World War II, as well as our days. Each of the selected historical segments had its own traditions of musical culture and celebrations, which were often transformed and flowed from era to era. Also, each of the events was influenced by social and political factors, most often the music festival was not just a celebration and entertainment, but also had its own subtexts and meanings: from an attempt to appease the Gods to the need for the state to control its citizens. The purpose of this infotainment animation is not just to show how people of the past had fun, but also what meanings were behind this fun, what people wanted to say to the gods, authorities and themselves on this holiday.
