Educational Programme: Media Communications (Bachelor)

Final Grade: 9

Our aspiration is to establish a precedent in dynamic and immersive foreign language education. This endeavor focuses on crafting an educational curriculum for German language acquisition utilizing a movie as the central pedagogical tool through interactive methodologies. The primary objective is to enrich language acquisition by leveraging captivating visual stimulus and engaging tasks. The curriculum introduces a German-language film as the foundational element for mastering the language. The educational process comprises three key components: a preparatory vocabulary guide preceding the film viewing, the interactive film screening itself with associated tasks, and a conversational virtual session following the film facilitated by a native German speaker to enhance speaking proficiency and solidify newly acquired vocabulary. This comprehensive approach to language acquisition is poised to dynamically, captivatingly, and effectively augment students’ proficiency in German. The study illustrates the efficacy of integrating films and interactive modalities into foreign language curricula, proposing a novel methodology that integrates vocabulary acquisition, listening and speaking skill development into a cohesive, immersive language learning experience. Employing interactive formats in language education serves to sustain student engagement and nurture their learning motivation. Keywords: German learning, foreign language learning, interactive format, German film, German vocabulary
