The Features and Advantages of Documentary Film as the Extension to a Transmedia Project

The paper "Documentary Film as an Extension of Transmedia Project: Features and Advantages" explores the author's transmedia project entitled "I'll Carry Your Pain". The paper considers the principles of constructing an integral artistic image in a cinematographic work - the image itself is interpreted as the main characteristic of documentary film works. Parallels are found between the principles of constructing an integral artistic image and the mechanics of incorporating extensions into transmedia projects. These parallels show that a documentary film can be embedded in a transmedia project as an independent, integral work from the point of view of the artistic image, but at the same time - as an element of a broader, transmedia, structure. The project "I'll Carry Your Pain", which is designed to explore the socio-cultural connection of Armenian settlers with their homeland, proves this logic. In it, a whole artistic image of the Armenian culture is created at the level of a documentary movie. At the same time, extensions - the author's Telegram channel, a series of text interviews - complement and deepen certain aspects of this image.
