Algorithmic Newsfeed as a Promising Product for Modern Russian Information Agencies

Student: Bubnova Yuliya

Supervisor: Alexey Dzhura

Faculty: Faculty of Creative Industries

Educational Programme: Media Management (Master)

Year of Graduation: 2024

The amount of news produced by Russian news agencies is increasing every year. However, in the B2C segment, that is, on their sites for a general audience, this diversity is not reflected. The content of news media sites is largely determined by aggregators, because such services bring them more than half of all traffic. As a result, despite the desire of news agencies to cover events in as much detail as possible, there is an actual narrowing of the agenda at the level of end readers. The creation of algorithmic feeds that adapt to the interests of each specific user and select the most relevant information for him would help solve this problem.
