The Influence of Financial Situation on the Marital Status of Russian Citizens

The history of family relationships dates back to ancient times. People created families, had children, and continued the human race. Thus emerged the institution of marriage, which evolves over time. Over many centuries, the forms of marital relationships have changed, and nowadays scholars identify seven marital statuses. The aim of this study was to construct a model depicting the relationship between marital status and various financial indicators, along with its interpretation. The research will allow for the examination of the influence of financial status on the marital status of Russian citizens and determine the extent to which financial factors affect the state of marriage. The study was conducted based on the database provided by the Russian Monitoring of Economic Situation and Population Health at the National Research University Higher School of Economics. Such methods as descriptive analysis, method of comparing means, and regression analysis were found to be necessary to prepare and make a research. The expected results of the project include processed database, as well as the construction of descriptive and multinomial models based on it. This project proposal consists of background information, the literature review, professional significance, results and other sections describing the graduation work.
