In accordance with the three-stage division of human history, modern society and economy, starting from the second half of the 20th century, can be characterized as post-industrial or post-economic, following the previous industrial or economic stage of the world order. The third stage is characterized by a change in the system of values, methods of production and exchange, as well as the life and activities of people. This work complements the class of studies devoted to the analysis of economic theories that emerged at the turn of the new millennium and earlier about the changes occurring in the economy in accordance with the end of the industrial era and the accelerating pace of technological progress. Its purpose is to analyze the economic model of man in them and, where possible and appropriate, in the modern world and society. For this purpose, a Human Model will be used, formed and supplemented on the basis of the works of economists of the past, which, despite changes depending on the context under consideration and the researcher, is headed by the principle of rationality of economic agents and the principle of maximizing their utility with limited resources and information. Also significant in the work is the concept of social (in addition to technical) progress, displacing outside the scope of the study a significant part of the theories that are methodologically unsuitable for this specific work, but no less significant in general. With the help of the studied material and the presented theories, a rethinking of the model of economic man in the modern world will be carried out. The result of this work will be a synthesis of a fairly orthodox Model of man in economics, the concept of post-economic society and the post-industrial era, which will allow us to give a more complete understanding of the changes that have occurred and are ongoing in the economy, society and economic theory.
