Efficiency Assessment of M&A Transactions in High-Tech Industry

The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors influencing the valuation of companies and their industry-specific characteristics during mergers and acquisitions within the high-tech sector. This includes examining the direction in which involved firms operate, as well as assessing the market reaction to the announcement of M&A transactions by high-tech companies. The aim will be achieved by studying a sample of M&A transactions using the event study method and analyzing the financial metrics of companies before and after the deal. Expected results of the research include a more profound understanding of the effectiveness of mergers and acquisitions for the buyer's company in the high-tech sector, identifying market reaction trends and providing empirical performance data in both the short and long term.
