The Influence of Geopolitical Factor on Investment Efficiency of Russian Companies

In modern realities, the significance of geopolitics has become particularly important. This is why the main goal of this study is to assess the impact of geopolitical risk on the investment efficiency of Russian non-financial companies listed on the Moscow Stock Exchange from 2012 to 2022. The final sample consists of 187 companies. The study employs a methodology that allows determining efficiency as the issue of over- or under-investment in companies and then assessing how exactly the geopolitical factor affects them. The research findings indicate that the geopolitical factor increases over- and under-investment.
