The Impact of Intellectual Capital on the Financial Efficiency of Universities

Intellectual capital (IC) plays a significant role in the efficiency of universities and in their value creation, so in order to gain a better understanding of the creation of university value and the factors that contribute to it, it is essential to consider IC. This research investigates the impact of IC on the financial performance (FP) of Russian universities. To address this issue, a database was compiled that includes the indicators of IC at different stages of its life cycle within the university, as well as the profitability of Russian universities for the period from 2014 to 2022. This data was then analyzed using various specifications of the panel regression model, taking into account the influence of the type of university. The anticipated outcome of this study is that IC has a positive influence on the FP of Russian universities and the more significant the IC, the higher the return on FP is. The study is organized into five main sections: an introductory chapter, a literature review, a description of the methods used, an explanation of the expected results, and a concluding chapter.
