This research explores the leisure-time choices of women, particularly focusing on their engagement within the computer gaming sector. It delves into the reasons behind the underrepresentation of women as players in computer games and examines the external and internal factors that influence their engagement. Through a mix of qualitative and quantitative research methods, including surveys and in-depth interviews within the Russian population aged 18 to 25, the study identifies key barriers such as domestic responsibilities, fatigue, perceived toxicity, and a lack of appealing game content. The findings suggest a pronounced need for a gaming industry that is more inclusive and accommodative of women's interests and constraints.
