Faculty: HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM HSE)

Educational Programme: Information Security (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2024

The graduate qualification work is devoted to the development of an interactive system providing remote access to network devices, mainly routers and switches. During the construction of the system similar undertakings in educational institutions of different countries are studied, the concept of web-application for students and teachers is made, variants of its implementation are analyzed, the comparison of existing systems of emulation of network equipment is carried out, and the main topics studied by students of technical specialties on educational courses on network technologies are investigated. The work considers the problems of organizing remote access to devices through the console embedded in the web application, security issues of the developed system, features of various network protocols and scenarios of their application, as well as the possibilities of implementing the final product in the educational process. As a result of the final qualification work, a web-application has been developed, which allows to remotely connect to network devices and perform console operations on them, emulate a local network for tests and experiments through the PNetLab equipment emulation system, as well as study the basics of network technologies using the built-in knowledge base consisting of several sections. Keywords – remote access, emulation, network technologies, PNetLab, Telnet, SSH, Python, Django, Mikrotik. The work contains 85 pages, 19 pictures, 36 sources, 1 appendice.
