Lake Baikal is the oldest body of water in Siberia. Beautiful views and natural features make Baikal a place in Russia you want to come to. There are many travel agencies offering services to visit Lake Baikal. However, they only talk about the main advantages of Lake Baikal that everyone knows. This creates the effect of false expectations. After all, at Lake Baikal there is practically no service in restaurants, hotels often with outdated interiors and high prices, rough roads. The aim of the project is to create a media project "To Baikal Consciously", which shows Baikal from the point of view of a local. One of the main ideas is that the lake is beautiful, but it has drawbacks that can spoil the impression of the trip. The project tells everything honestly, without concealment, because the author is sure that even with the disadvantages Baikal is a place worth visiting. The project envisages a series of guides to a conscious visit to the lake. The brand concept implies the integration of several semantic components: the point of view of local people, honesty and beauty of the lake. Qualitative research methods are used: analyzing the expectations of people from the western part of Russia towards Lake Baikal, conducting interviews with local residents to get information about their vision of Lake Baikal, preparing a design project and developing an identity. The result of the work will be a corporate identity for the media project and a series of printed guidebooks.
