The study delves into the similarities and differences between otherworldly worlds in video games. The unique features of such spaces are highlighted using examples of afterlife, astral and parallel worlds. The work helps to better understand the reasons for the choice of such world conventions by developers, how being in an otherworldly reality works for the immersiveness of the game, as well as the significance of the setting at the stage of game design.
