The process of digitalization is an actual trend for both Western and eastern countries. At first, political scientists believed that digitalization was a sign of more democratic countries. Then the first theories were broken down into a number of cases. A similar story happened with education. At the same time, there are a number of countries with successful examples of digitalization of education. It is noteworthy that these cases exist in countries with different political regimes. However, my previous research, as well as relevant theoretical work by a number of authors, suggested that the socio-political context plays an important role. If digitalization ofeEducation as a factor of political engagement level and political awareness's developmen in the European context has already been partially studied, then the issue of the interaction of these variables in Russia remains practically unexplored. Thus, the work will focus on the study of the Russian case. The study describes the main theoretical concepts related to the designated topic, a regression analysis is carried out with additional use of the mediation model.
