EU Intellectual Property Protection in the Digital Environment

The paper analyzes the policy of the European Union in the field of copyright in the digital environment from the point of view of neofunctionalism. The first chapter of the work examines current theoretical approaches to the research subject and explains the choice of neofunctionalism. The second chapter of the work examines the history of legislation and judicial practice of the CJEU regarding the regulation of intellectual property in the digital environment. In the third and final chapter of the work, the compatibility of the neofunctionalist toolkit with the research subject is assessed, and a comprehensive estimation of the classical nеofunctionalist theoretical assumptions in relation to EU copyright is conducted.
