The theoretical significance of the study is that this work fills a gap in scientific knowledge regarding the influence of the official Russian media on the fighters directly on their own. Moreover, there are currently very few studies in the scientific community based on the possibility of personally interviewing soldiers directly in the combat zone. The purpose of my research can be formulated as the identification of the connection and influence of the discourse of the official media on the opinion of military personnel in the area of their own. Research objectives: 1. Development of a research design, including a theoretical framework and research methods. 2. Collecting interviews of military personnel in the combat zone, transcribing them with the division of fighters according to the categorization method. 3. Identification of media materials suitable for the selected criteria. 4. Analysis of military personnel interviews and media materials by the method of discourse analysis. 5. Drawing conclusions about the degree of influence and similarity of opinions of military personnel and media discourse, about possible causes of similarities and differences
