This paper examines the problem of the contradiction between Foucault's concept of governmentalism and the possibilities of its identification with education in the field of public and political management on the one hand and, on the other hand, the critical sociology of the curriculum as an optics of analyzing education from the point of view of political influence. Based on the works of Michel Foucault and theorists of critical sociology of the curriculum, the study will consider how the phenomenon of governmentalism can be identified in the curriculum. The paper also examines in detail the prospects and limitations of the application of Foucault's concept of governmentalism in the optics of the critical sociology of the curriculum for the analysis of education in the field of public and political management.
