Human perception consists of processing sensory data obtained from six sense organs: the organ of vision — the eye, the organ of hearing — the ear, the organ of touch — the skin, the organ of smell — the nose, the organ of taste — the tongue, the organ of balance — the vestibular apparatus. The result of the perception process is a constructed image, a subjective vision of the real world. But what is the image of the perception process itself? Is it possible to display this image graphically? Is it possible to display the process of perception using a map by building an image-sign model? This visual study examines graphic artifacts, objects of art and scientific research that seek to capture a particular type of perception in the form of an image-sign model or, in other words, a map.
