Despite the many ways of storing photographs, the printed family photo album remains a highly popular way of preserving life's important moments. The visual research focuses on exploring the history of family photography as an object of memory, with the aim of identifying characteristic changes over time and the development of technology. The result of the study is a detailed classification of family photography that can be applied in further historical and cultural studies. Keywords: family photography, evolution, mass fascination, family archive, identity, and cultural heritage.
