An Illustrated Book About Subcultural Movements of Moscow Early Millenium

Student: Svetlana Gasova

Supervisor: Anna Znamenskaia

Faculty: Faculty of Creative Industries

Educational Programme: Design (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2024

The project is an illustrated guide to Moscow countercultural movements, starting from the 2000s and ending with their complete disappearance in our time. The reader first gets acquainted with the history of the development of subcultures in the post-Soviet space, and then explores the most significant countercultural associations in the residential areas of Moscow. At the moment, there are almost no accessible and understandable materials on this topic in the media. The diploma structures scattered information and becomes a chronicle of Moscow streets of previous decades, helping us better understand the environment in which we exist.
