Self-Expression in Professional Acting as Burnout Prevention

The article proposes a model in which creative self-expression acts as the leading creative activity of dramatic actors and, presumably, reduces the consequences of professional burnout and promotes psychological well-being. In a qualitative study, the following tasks were set: 1) to systematize ideas about creative activity, creative self-expression in modern psychology, 2) describe modern ideas about the factors of professional burnout of actors, 3) to identify the forms of creativity in the acting profession, in the creation and realization of a role, the mechanisms of embedding an image in creativity, 4) create a model describing the importance of creative self-expression in the prevention of emotional burnout and in the psychological well-being of an actor., 5) empirically investigate the subjective ideas of actors about creative self-expression and its role in their professional activities, 6) systematize subjective perceptions in accordance with the current level of professional burnout. The main ways of creative self-expression of actors are revealed and the subjective significance of these methods for the prevention of professional burnout is described (the subjective relationship of self-expression with satisfaction and discomfort from work is described).
