A significant amount of research is dedicated to dance movement therapy effectiveness. Nonetheless, there is a lack of theoretical comprehension regarding the effects of dance movement therapy (DMT) on anxiety and self-doubt levels among individuals engaged in dance. Moreover, the efficacy of this therapeutic approach in the context of dancers immersed in an environment focused on movement remains uncertain. Therefore, the main purpose of the study is to determine the efficacy of dance movement therapy when applied to dance practitioners. The individuals of the research participated in the training program consisting of 3 classes. In addition, the DASS-21 anxiety scale and the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale to measure the self-doubt level were used. Besides, self-reports to assess the levels of self-doubt and anxiety of dancers experienced during dance performances and rehearsals were completed. Also, another questionnaire was devised to assess participants' state following the training, and the usefulness of the training itself. It was anticipated that dance movement interventions contribute to promoting self-assurance and reducing the level of anxiety in dancers. However, hypotheses are not confirmed. Further experimental work is required to investigate the impact of dance therapy on dancers due to the requirement for an increased number of sessions within the training program for more accurate results and consider a number of other constraints.
