Over the past decade, interest in the professional development of employees of the state municipal service has increased again. However, empirical studies examining the influence of gender and age factors on the professionalization of civil servants have not been conducted. To fill this gap, the proposed study is an attempt to contribute to the discussion of the professionalization of state and municipal employees. More specifically, the influence of age and gender factors on the professionalization of civil servants has been established. In this work, quantitative data from a sample of civil servants of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation were used. In particular, a statistical and correlation analysis of the data obtained was carried out in order to study the distribution of employees by different age and gender categories. Statistical analysis has demonstrated the degree of influence of gender and age factors on the professionalization of civil servants. In addition, an assessment of the level of influence of the above-mentioned factors was carried out, as well as other possible related aspects were identified. The results obtained may be important for understanding the factors influencing professionalization in the field of public and municipal administration.
