St.Petersburg citizens and visitors of the city, finding themselves on the streets of the central districts, probably more than once caught the eye or came face to face with mute witnesses of urban life. During the walk, you can suddenly see among the passers-by the stone stern face of a man, or the pleasant, slightly smiling face of a girl, or the open mouth of a lion. And sometimes unknown creatures with horns and wings appear on the facades, which are often quite unfriendly. Meeting with such "stone townspeople" always brings with it a sense of mystery, solemnity, and sometimes anxiety. Who are they? How many are there? Why were they placed here? What made them happy, angry, sad? What emotions prevail on the streets of our city? I will try to answer these questions in my visual research.
