Educational Programme: Design (Bachelor)

Final Grade: 7

Within the framework of a visual study using examples of pearls, noble metals, polymer clay, minerals, and crystals, the author examines the uniqueness of materials for jewelry in the modern world. Researching such material serves as a useful basis for working on the final qualifying project (FQP) as it is directly related to the diploma project. The study helped to identify the relevance of the chosen material. Through visual research, the author concludes that pearls, as a material for jewelry, have always been in demand, and baroque pearls have become even more popular than classic pearls due to their unique shape, as a large number of people strive for uniqueness and self-expression. The author also proposed and confirmed the following hypothesis: "Baroque pearls are a key material for achieving the greatest uniqueness in jewelry, therefore products made from such material are likely to be most popular."
