This work examines the characteristics of the LEGO market and the factors influencing the profitability of LEGO sets. The theoretical part reviews existing research in the field of alternative investments, such as art, precious metals, and collectibles. Special attention is given to the relatively unexplored LEGO market. The practical part includes an analysis of data obtained from the Brickset website. The sample consists of 3,858 LEGO sets released between 1990 and 2023. It was found that sets on the primary market for less than 200 days are more likely to become profitable investments. Additionally, the authorship of a set by individuals such as Adam Grabowski or Lykke Madsen positively affects its profitability. Based on the results, recommendations are provided to potential investors on choosing LEGO sets for investment. Transaction and storage costs associated with investing in LEGO sets are also discussed. Keywords: alternative investments, LEGO, profitability, econometric analysis, collectibles.
