Modern Financing Mechanisms for Innovative Activities in the Energy Sector of the OECD Countries

This paper analyzes modern mechanisms for financing innovation activities in the energy sector of the countries that are members of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The features of financing innovations in the energy sector are considered, the main trends and problems are identified. The study examines in detail various financing instruments such as grants, loans, venture capital investment, public-private partnerships and others. Special attention is paid to the role of the state in financing innovative activities in the energy sector. Government innovation support programs, tax incentives and other government support measures are being considered. The study proved that the structure of financing influences innovation activity in the energy sector. The results of the study can be useful for specialists in the field of energy, economics and finance, as well as for government agencies responsible for the development and implementation of innovation and energy policies.
