Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic on Development of Media Product Delivery Channels in the Market of American Video Streaming Platforms

The work is analyzing the way COVID-19 pandemic influenced the U.S. media content distribution industry. This research considers stages of the American video streaming market development, evaluates its conjancture, provides insights on price-related and non-financial factors which enhance matching of economic agents via the streaming platforms. Furthermore, the work also contraposes the performance indicators of streaming services and traditional channels of media content distribution. Going even further, the research demonstrates how the pandemic breakout influenced the media content consumption and how it changed the consumption habits of american households in various age-groups. At the same time, the work analyzes how COVID-19 affected the market structures in video streaming services' and traditional media content distribution channels' market. The final part of the paper includes the econometric analysis which evaluated relations between streaming service companies' performance indicators and various macroeconomic variables. These metrics were analyzed before and during the period of the pandemic outbreak in order to evaluate whether significant structural changes took place.
