The paper presents an analysis of the influence of health factors on life expectancy (LE) of men and women on regional data from the Federal State Statistics Service for the period 2005-2022. For a more detailed study of the determinants, the clustering method was used, and all regions of the Russian Federation were divided into groups with relatively high, medium and low LE of men and women. The robustness of the estimates was tested by pooled regression, regression FE and regression RE. A pairwise comparison of the specifications led to the conclusion that the fixed-effects model explains the relationship between the determinants of health and LE better than others. As a result of the study, a number of key factors affecting all clusters were identified, as well as the peculiarities of the influence of health determinants depending on the group. The effect of the coronavirus pandemic was also analyzed and an attempt was made to assess the impact of events and trends in 2022.
