The automotive industry plays a fundamental role in the modern global economy, being one of the leading sectors of the world economy. It is a complex system that brings together many countries and companies interacting within the global value chain. In today's world, the automotive industry is becoming the object of close attention in the context of environmental sustainability and innovative technologies. One of the key trends in this industry is the transition from traditional internal combustion vehicles to electric vehicles, which is leading to significant changes in global value chains (GVCs). This transition is of interest not only from the point of view of environmental sustainability, but also from the position of economic development and the reorganization of world economic relations. Many automakers are actively investing in the development and production of electric vehicles (EVs), offering consumers greener and more energy-efficient transportation solutions. The USA, Japan, China, Germany, Sweden, Great Britain, Norway, France, Canada are among the leaders in the industry and are actively introducing innovative technologies into their production. This work reflects an integrated approach to studying the impact of the production of electric vehicles on the GVC in the automotive industry, taking into account the level economic development of the country. During the study, a comprehensive methodological approach was applied, including content analysis of thematic information (collection and systematization of information from various sources, its structuring and qualitative analysis in order to identify the main trends, patterns and problematic aspects in the production of electric vehicles and GVCs related to them), econometric analysis (collection and processing of quantitative data, conducting regression analysis using methods to determine the relationships between the studied indicators).
